Step-by-Step Instruction For Pizza-
The pizza dough we’ll be baking is a Sicilian crust. We have prepared a detailed recipe just for you. So follow the instructions well.
Step 1: Activate the Yeast
Add the yeast, honey, or sugar, and 1/4 cup warm water in a small ceramic or glass dish. It’ll take 10 minutes for the yeast to activate so wait until then. It should be bubbly and foamy.
Step 2: Add the Ingredients
In a separate large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, bread flour, Tipo flour, and salt.
Add the yeast and roughly a third of a cup of water once the yeast has become active. If you don’t need all of the water, don’t add all of it at once. Let the flour to absorb the water for a while.
Step 3: Knead the Dough
Form a shaggy ball out of the dough. Add a tablespoon of water at a time until the dough forms a shaggy ball if there are still dry particles of flour.
Knead the dough for at least 5 minutes on a clean counter or surface. The dough should be elastic and smooth.
Step 4: Allow the Dough to Rise
Return the dough to the bowl and gently coat the edges of the bowl with extra virgin olive oil. Also, drizzle over the dough with the oil too. Wrap plastic wrap or a clean cloth over the dish.
Allow the dough to rise for at least 4-6 hours in a warm, draft-free place. You can choose your microwave or counter for that as well.
If you want your dough to rise more, put it in the fridge overnight. Then, before you shape and bake the dough, let it cool to room temperature.
Step 5: Making the Sauce
In a large saucepan, stir the canned tomatoes, oregano, onion powder, garlic powder, sea salt, and brown sugar. If desired, a pinch of pepper can be added.
Cook, stirring regularly, for 15-20 minutes on low medium heat. Reheat for 5-10 minutes at 350 degrees in a preheated oven.
Time to prepare the dough, sauce, and toppings to bake in the oven.
Step 6: Prepare the Dough to Bake
Preheat your oven to 500 degrees but make sure you’re doing it one hour before you bake. Apply extra virgin oil to the bottom and the edge of your baking pan very well.
Take out the dough from the bowl and place it in the pan. Stretch the dough all the way around using your hands. You don’t want to destroy the integrity by overworking it.
Be kind and patient with it. Cover it and let it sit for about 5 minutes to relax the gluten in its rubber wrapping back on itself.
Poke the dough with a fork once it’s pushed into the pan. This minimizes the formation of air bubbles during the baking process.
Bake the pizza for about 10 minutes on the bottom rack of a 500°F oven. Alternatively, until the dough begins to lightly brown. It’s crucial to avoid overcooking the dough. Reduce the temperature to 425 degrees Fahrenheit after removing the pan from the oven.
Spread a thin layer of sauce on top of the dough, being careful not to cover the crust. Leave a 1/2-inch border on both sides.
Before re-entering the oven, lightly sprinkle on a tiny quantity of mozzarella and provolone cheese mixture. This is just to absorb part of the moisture, preventing the dough from becoming soggy.
Place in a 425°F oven for 6-8 minutes, or until golden brown. Make sure it’s hollow when tapped with a spatula on the bottom of the pizza dough. Remove the dish from the oven.
Sprinkle the provolone and mozzarella cheese mixture over the top and top with room temperature pepperoni.
Before slicing the pizza, wait a few minutes for the cheese to melt and the pepperoni to warm up. You may now savor this delight!
