Steps For Making The Dough

These are some easy steps to help you make your desired dough. Follow accordingly to avoid any hassle and make the perfect dough at home.

Step 1 of 3: Activate The Yeast

The first thing’s first, you have to activate the yeast. This is necessary for any type of pizza dough. The earthy flavor won’t come if you don’t activate the yeast properly.

First, pour three cups of warm water into a bowl. It should be a bit higher than room temperature. Around 115 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit will do the job.

Now add 3 tablespoons of sugar and 3 tablespoons of yeast to the water. Then slowly stir the mixture until everything dissolves. But don’t stir too quickly. It will result in lowering the temperature of the water and not dissolving the yeast.

Now, leave the mixture aside in a warm place for 20 minutes.  You can cover up the mixture if you want. Wait for 20 minutes to let the yeast activate and rise.

Step 2 of 3: Creating The Dough

Once the yeast is activated, add salt and olive oil to it. Add the flour slowly to the mixture.

If you are mixing the flour with your hands, go very slowly. Keep adding the flour until a dough ball forms.

However, if you’re using a heavy-duty mixture, put all the ingredients together and mix them. You can knead using your bare hands to feel the right consistency. The texture should be between sticky and tight.

Once you reach this consistency, cover the dough with wrap. Set aside the dough for about an hour.

Step 3 of 3: Making The Crust

The Costco dough recipe is quite easy. But making the crust can be a bit challenging here.

Stretch and flatten the dough in a bubbly pizza pan. Use the same pan to bake the pizza.

How Can I Determine The Perfect Texture For The Dough?

Slap or punch the dough. If the dough sticks to your hand, you need to add some flour. If it is too dry, add some water. The texture should be fluffy but not too sticky.

How Many Crusts Can be Formed With The Amount Of  Dough Made?

If you intend to make a 16 inches crust, you will need the whole dough. But if you intend to make 12 inches, you can make two.

I don’t have any dough docker, what can I do?

You can use a fork instead. But with a fork, you have to be careful. .Don’t hit too hard.

Dough making is considered an art in many places of the world. Apart from just following the steps, you need to be very considerate with it. That is the ultimate secret of the perfect pizza crust.
