Thanks for the rec on Picpoul, we'll look out for it. The flavors seem to even pair up nicely with grilled Asian dishes. Good boxed wine sounds very convenient for big parties.

I agree about wine not needing to be cheap to be good. We always have a great stock of our "everyday house" wines that are normally under $7-8. For last minute dinner parties, these house wines are always a pleasant surprise and hit amongst our "snobby" friends.

Our latest exciting find is a Tanner Park 2004 Syrah , Napa Valley for only $6.99 a bottle! We're heading out and getting a few cases of it tomorrow for a weekend party!

I've been a box wine convert for awhile now.

I live alone and love a glass of wine with dinner... trouble is even with those vacu-suck devices, the wine never tastes the same.

Box wine solved that problem for me.
